Annie Dam always knew she was going to have her own business. She always wanted “to build a place where people can feel comfortable, cared for, and appreciated while giving our team an environment where they can grow, build confidence, and do what they love”. At first, she believed it would be in the restaurant business. While studying at a nail tech school in Virginia, James Dinh, her boyfriend who would later became her husband, convinced her to open a nail salon first.
They opened their first nail salon in Columbus, Ohio and Annie was hooked. She never considered opening up restaurants again. They ran it successfully for 3 years. But Annie got burnt out. By then she was married and had 2 kids. Juggling family and the business amid the Covid pandemic was very stressful. They sold the business and moved the family to Vietnam for 3 months.
When they returned in 2023, they settled in Bowling Green and opened another nail salon. By October 2025, they were ready for their second location. Annie found a unit at The Shoppes at RiverPlace in Perrysburg, but it was already pre-leased to someone else. She was crushed. Her husband assured her that something will come around again. They kept looking.
Thankfully, the leasing agent reached out months later with a new, and larger, unit in the same plaza. This was double the space she had in Bowling Green, but Annie and team were up for the challenge.
Introducing Luxe Nails Lounge
Step into the Luxe Nails Lounge at The Shoppes at RiverPlace and your jaw might drop. The salon is stunningly outfitted with gold and sparkles. If there is one word to describe it, “luxurious” would come to mind. This is all intentionally designed. The music is chill and the whole atmosphere is geared to providing good vibes and bringing relaxation and renewal to the customer.
Luxe Nails Lounge features nail services including builder gel, Gel X, acrylics, and multiple pedicure packages. It also has a mini bar that serves mimosas and wine. Annie personally loves pampering clients and seeing them get happy and leave smiling.
To Annie, Luxe Nails Lounge is more than just a nail salon. Her dream has always been to build a business where “clients feel like they’re visiting friends and where our nail technicians feel like they’re part of a family.” This is something that Annie works at and finds joy in creating at Luxe Nails Lounge.
“Building that kind of community has been one of the most rewarding parts of owning my business,” she states.
